Egypt’s National Defence Council, chaired by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, said on 18 October that Cairo would extend all necessary and possible forms of support to Saudi Arabia to defend its security and territorial integrity. The statement followed al-Sisi’s request for parliamentary backing for possible deployments abroad; it did not specify a force package, deployment plan or timetable.
The council’s declaration moves Egypt’s position beyond a preliminary political offer, while leaving the form and scale of assistance unresolved. Its operational significance will depend on any Saudi request and subsequent Egyptian decisions; the statement alone does not establish that forces or equipment have been deployed.
