Romania’s Defence Ministry signed a contract on 27 October with Thales Romania and Thales LAS France for four mobile approach and landing radar systems. The announced value is approximately 326.5 million lei before VAT, with phased deliveries beginning in 2028.
Assessment: The contract supports future air-traffic-control and recovery capability. It does not constitute equipment delivery, operational acceptance or a near-term increase in available radar coverage.
