The IAEA confirmed on 23 October that repairs to a backup transformer near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant had been completed under a local ceasefire. The work strengthened the connection to the Ferosplavna-1 330 kV line, the plant’s sole remaining external power supply. The main 750 kV Dniprovska line remained unavailable.
Assessment: The repair improves reliability but does not restore redundancy in external electricity supply. Continued military activity and damage to the main line sustain nuclear-safety risks.
